The MacGillivray Freeman Films Distribution Company has more than 40 years of experience in specialized film distribution and is committed to promoting the growth and success of the giant screen format.   With a collection of more than 40 award-winning films from internationally renowned directors, the Distribution Company offers the largest independent giant screen film library in the world.  Headquartered in Laguna Beach, our distribution and marketing team has enjoyed a long and cordial relationship with theatre directors around the world including more than 50 Great Adventure Film Partner theatres.  Led by Mike Lutz, the Distribution Company assists theatres with all aspects of film programming, advertising, public relations, sponsorship, and marketing strategies.

The Distribution Company has a reputation for customer service and innovative marketing and has earned five Giant Screen Cinema Association Best Marketing Campaign by a Distributor Awards—more than any other film distributor in the giant screen industry—for Everest (1998), Dolphins (2000), Journey into Amazing Caves (2001), Mystery of the Nile (2004) and Hurricane on the Bayou (2006). 

In response to the growing popularity of special venue films around the world, some of our 15/70mm films are available in 8/70mm and 10/70mm formats.  In every format, we’ve established a reputation in the industry for producing superior quality prints and soundtracks.  That quality reputation now extends to DVD, HDDVD, and HDTV releases.  We are also proficient in assisting international theatres with translations and mixing for foreign language soundtracks.
